Hiroki Tsurumoto
Hiroki Tsurumoto (born in Fukuchiyama, Japan, on July 3, 1976) is a
Japanese composer of classical music. A former student of Amnon Wolman,
Tania Leon, and John Corigliano, Tsurumoto's music that departs from the
system of tonal hierarchies that are said to characterized the sound of
classical music.
In September 2006 Tsurumoto started University of Toronto Faculty of
Music's graduate composition program with Professor Ka Nin Chan.
Prior to his career as a composer, he played the Technitone at Victor
Technics Music Festivals. He won several prizes including nationwide
finalist and a first prize, two second prizes, and a third prize at a
regional competitions.
All his pieces have been performed in public.
